I remember watching Moulin Rouge in theaters and this is the part where the movie totally won me over. I just surrendered to its magic and weirdness at this point and have never forgotten the experience.

I'm like, normally pretty against isnta-love in fiction, but man. This scene is so good that it just sucks you right in. The song, Ewan McGregor's angel voice, their chemistry, the insane editing. It's beautiful and it feels more like a fairytale. The definition of "bright-eyed romance." I just couldn't help but buy into it wholesale.

Ewan has an AMAZING voice!! That first verse "My gift is my song" I just recoiled when I first saw this movie YEARS ago cause I had no idea he had that tonal control or even a good voice to begin with!
