Should the Chicago Fire Rebrand?

In early April, a leaked text message on Twitter seemed to confirm that the Chicago Fire were planning to leave Bridgeview and rebrand as Chicago City FC. As a Fire fan myself, these are my thoughts.

RSL's Rio Tinto stadium is another example of not being near downtown, but has decent crowds; at least it's near a light rail station and easy to get to. Their biggest problem is getting people to show up on time! Crowd always trickles in between 15-30 minutes after kickoff.

Hey bud. I'm a NY Red bulls fan, but ever since I was a kid I always loved the Chicago fire just because they were so good back in the day. They won MLS cup in there first season and Zack thorton was a beast. Sad to see dwindling attendance but I'll still be rooting for em. They have dax after all :) keep the faith bud. Either way as long as you have a team enjoy it

Stadium change: good. Name change: bad. I agree with you though. If they do change the name they should just do what the Sounders did when they went from USL to MLS and added the FC to the name making them Seattle Sounders FC. Anything beyond FC or SC will be awful. Chicago and New England are the only teams that have had a solid crest since the early days of MLS. I really would hate to see that one go.

It did suck when I went there for Christmas and I didn’t find a single Chicago fire shirt or merch but but I managed to find some in bridgeview

Seems that the rapids and chicago are pretty similar imo. Our stadium is in commerce city which is, frankly a shithole. And it its hard to get to from denver. The rapids also have zero presence in Denver itself. We have the occasional billboard. We have no presence in our airport either you cant buy any rapids merchandise. As a rapids fan I would be all for a rebrand as the name rapids doesnt mean a whole lot. Anyway love your vids man.

The only right thing to rebrand the badge is just change the badge but keep the name. The only thing ruined about Chicago Fire is that they added FC for a team name.

Me and my cousin have been talking about this for years. This owner never cared for the fire he never took this team seriously. I have no problem with Toyota park because that's our home but people are right there is nothing to do there it is a dead zone. Great video by the way man 👍

Imagine being a new pro player and you just got signed to Chicago Fire, you’re walking to the pitch on your first game and all you see is more empty seats than people. This is why they played so terrible the whole time. They don’t feel the love from the city. I’m happy their moving downtown.

I hated the 2019-2021 logo (i also hate the 2021 logo)
