Jungle Safari at Night! 6 AMAZING ANIMALS!

In this Tomb Raider style animal adventure episode, I take you on a night time safari in the jungle to find as many different animals as possible. The jungles of Asia come alive at night with many nocturnal species, such as bats and geckos. These animals hunt insects at night. In turn, predators including snakes come out to feed on those animals that are lower down in the food chain. This makes the night time such a great time to see animals! Also, the night time is the time to sleep for the "diurnal" species (active during the day, like us!), and it is possible to see these animals sleeping, especially those that sleep high up in the trees!

In this episode I come across the following main species:
01:53 White eyed gecko (nocturnal)
02:44 Radiated Rat Snake (diurnal and nocturnal)
04:45 Poisonous Rock Frog (nocturnal)
06:05 Oriental Whip Snake (diurnal)

*DISCLAIMER*
Jack Randall has extensive experience handling and studying wild animals. Where filming with dangerous animals Made in the Wild works with scientists and wildlife institutions. Do not attempt to handle wild animals without appropriate training and permits.

About Jack Randall:
Jack is a zoologist on an adventure! He has a TV show with National Geographic Wild / Disney+ called "Out There with Jack Randall" and this is his YouTube channel where he tells animal stories. Jack was educated at Oxford University following an apprenticeship with the iconic Steve Irwin (which started when Jack was 14!). Jack’s mission is to show off the world’s most amazing animals. And to do that he must explore the world’s most wild places…

What Are Creature Features?
All creatures have evolved different tricks to survive in the wild places they call their homes! Each animal has an awesome story about how they look, what they eat and even how they move! Creature Features spotlight the stories behind these crazy cool adaptations.

The Science:
With over 1 Million species on the IUCN Red List of Endangered Species, animal populations are in decline the world over. This is due to many reasons but what we know for sure is to keep the planet's amazing diversity of wildlife we need to learn as much as possible about where and how these creatures live their lives. Collating all the data we are gathering will help build a picture of which habitats are key to sustaining the largest diversity of life on planet earth.

Thanks to our amazing team without whom the series would not have been possible!

Amazing video jack! Those were some stunning finds, that poisonous rock frog was something new for me, never knew they were a thing until know! And it was a lot bigger than I thought, that and the gecko were the coolest things in my option. But all the finds were so cool in general. Can’t wait for more, keep up the great work!

This episode was brilliant Jack! One of my favorite concepts for a wildlife video is an expedition like this, when you have no particular target and you highlight whatever you come across. Southeast Asia is a treasure trove of amazing wildlife, and I think my favorite from this video has to be the Oriental Whipsnake. They are true icons of the region, and very high on my list of species to encounter one day. The White-eyed Forest Gecko is also really cool, it’s not often you see a true gecko with a prehensile tail. It’s very impressive that you’re able to reliably ID the majority of the species you come across, in an ecosystem as diverse as the Southeast Asian rainforest that is no easy feat. How do you go about researching for these adventures? Do you have field guides with you? Amazing work all around, and I can’t wait for more!

I think animals are now feeling a bit more secure and i think for the first time in decades they're living a peaceful life, with us humans staying inside our home.People should learn from this and allow the animals to live peacefully. Hope you're safe.

Nice finds...
No3 is not a radiated rat snake though. It is the closely related yellow striped rat snake (Coelognathus flavolineatus)....

Jack: Right down there is a poisonous rock frog.
Also Jack: *goes ahead and grabs it*

Me: I thought you said they were poisonous 🤔🤦‍♀️

Ps: the Oriental Whip snake was actually really cool.... That awesome green colour..and the way it just went slowly up without the help of a branch or something was really mind-blowing....

Rat snakes are non-venomous, usually non-aggressive and their docile demeanor come in handy when teaching kids that not all snakes are scary

3, it's black copper Ratsnake (colegnathus flavolineatus)
