The last of the Julio-Claudian dynasty, Emperor Nero is an emperor whose story shouldn't be passed over lightly. The history of Rome is marked by great and deplorable men. But what made the Nero's life story such a tragic one?
In this mini-history documentary, we examine the vice of selfishness in the life of Emperor Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus. From his mother's exile to his brother's murder, from the great fire of Rome to the murder-party-boat, from a nation that loved him to a Senate and Republic that was out for his blood, the Roman Emperor Nero's life is characterized by chaos brought about by his own selfishness.
The lessons from Emperor Nero and his life are ones that we can and should pay attention to. We all fall susceptible to the temptation to see ourselves as better than our neighbor. And as you'll see, the end of selfishness is our own undoing.
