Pocahontas was one of my favourite Disney films as a child and I still enjoy it to its day. Although its story is historically inaccurate and I find the ending sad I like the music, use of colour and animation in the film.

The music and animation are the best aspects of this film

Yeah some of it I agree with, Pocahontas was very ambitious it a good movie with a interesting story, good animation, good music and good characters. Biggest problem for me is the movie is too short and feel rushed! voice is good however I do wish they'd cast an english actor to voice John Smith instead of Mel Gibson, maybe casting someone who was northern english like where John Smith was original from like Sean Bean Maybe?

While the movie isn't exactly like history tells, I still really enjoy this movie from time to time

6:07 That's what I want to see, a Pocahontas Creepypasta.

This film actually started the avalanche of the Disney Renacience, which is sad because it had a good run until Pixar took over with Toy Story.

Well, I guess everyone has different tastes. I think this movie is pretty underrated. My little brother and sister really like it. I think it's pretty great.

Also, Jambareeqi, fun fact, Grandmother Willow was going to be Old Man River. But, the voice actor turned down the offer and further suggested they make him into a mother figure for Pocahontas.

I've made it no secret that my opinions towards this movie are very similar towards yours. When this came out, this film had already been successfully made: 'Dances With Wolves'-which is a historical movie no less. And after this movie came out it was remade into the ideal masterpiece that is known as 'Princess Mononoke'.
There were quite few factors that contributed to this movie coming up short on Disney's hopes, one of them being the sudden death of the company president, Frank Welker, and another being the departing of chairman Jeffery Katzenberg. Also, they were going to have the animals talk in this movie, and there was going to be a turkey voiced by John Candy. But when Candy died, they nixed the idea entirely.

Why is the word renaissance in Disney’s RENAISSANCE period?

I've been waiting for you to review this! I was hoping for a bit more optimism, but hey, we all have different opinions. I can definitely see your points on Meeko, Percy, and Flit. They're cute, but unnecessary. They also take away from the film being serious. I personally love all the music, but Mine Mine Mine is my least favorite. The only part I like in that song is John Smith's little bit, but that's it. I also love the relationship between John Smith and Pocahontas. I wish they had more time to flesh out their romance, but for what it is, I like it. I had a feeling the animation would get the highest score. There's no denying that the animation in this movie is amazing, particularly the color work. I personally feel this movie is an underrated gem, but I know not everyone will agree with me. This is definitely one of my favorite Disney movies, and I cry to it every time. I'm happy you did a review for it. Now I just need a review for The Lion King and The Prince of Egypt. :3

Shame you didn't mention Christain Bale in the 'Voice Acting' segment.

Hard to believe this was made by the A team and they thought the Lion King was going to be the flop

Wow people need to get over themselves. Movie companies can make movies about anything they dam want. Of course it’s not gonna be historically accurate. That’s what documentaries are for. I don’t think that creative freedom should be taken away from anyone. You take anything from history and use that as inspiration for a good story. It doesn’t matter if the story you want to tell is from a “protected race.” It’s all fair game. You can either make a movie that centres around any race or none at all. You can’t have it both ways. It doesn’t make sense to be ok with a movie let’s say for example Anastasia but turn your nose up at Pocahontas just because she’s Native American

What about Nakoma and Wiggins? Some think of them as two best characters of the film. (Next to Willow.)

5:06 ehmmm aren't Down to earth, and Spiritual opposite traits?
Down to earth is when a person has this no nonsence, laid back attitude and sees things overall rationally.
Spiritual is seeking deep into things and try to connect everyting and look for answers in higher levels.

I wonder if a person can have both traits.
