What Is a Homeowner's Insurance Deductible?

Thanks for your clear explanation :) May i ask if there is a $1 000 deductible for this insurance. And the claim is $20 000, we should minus the deductible first then only calculate for the co-insurance part or calculate the co-insurance part first then only minus the $1 000 deductible. Thanks for your help :)
