Have you ever thought about aliens? I mean, have you ever thought about the possibility that we aren’t alone? What if Earth is just one of many planets in the universe and intelligent life is out there somewhere? Just like how on earth are we supposed to know? Before you dismiss this as an absurd question, I highly recommend you watch this video. It might change your perspective. Over the past years NASA has heavily invested into researching extraterrestrial life. They’ve sent thousands of satellites into space, built scientific labs on the moon, and drafted thousands of groundbreaking reports about what it would be like to discover alien life. So, watch this video for those who are ready for some mind-blowing information about extraterrestrials, number 5 will definitely shock you. TESS has been in space for just a few days, but scientists have already found out where life could be possible. In the last couple of years, NASA's Kepler Telescope has discovered thousands of worlds that are more-or-less Earth sized. And by using artificial intelligence and machine learning to analyze their brightness, project scientists were able to find out which ones had atmospheres. TESS has identified ten new planets that orbit within the "habitable zone" of their stars — that is, the range of distances where liquid water might exist on the surface.

When you factor in all the galaxies and all the stars within those galaxies there's no way we're alone. We're definitely not the only intelligent life in the universe!

My question is: why do we assume that an ‘earth like’ planet isn’t already ‘taken’?

There will be earth like planets but i think it is pretty hard to match exactly (oxygen, gravity, day/knight, etc. I do think we will find planets where the gravity is good and where we are able to live with some sort of help/machines

I just wanted to say thank you 😊 to all the smart people who made this possible, and I for one am glad to be spaced out

If you grew up listening to Carl Sagan then you knew the probabilities of earth like planets in just our galaxy is immense. Thinking of a universe with billions of other galaxies, each with billions of solar systems, is a mind blower. The overwhelming numbers are enough to convince me we're not alone.

What if aliens on other planets are searching for "aliens" and wondering if they are alone? And what if they have earth listed as a possible planet with life on it?

Better than Earth? People thought Venus was a lot like Earth until it was discovered to be a literal hell planet.

Is there a class subject named Astronomy taught in high school, maybe even elementary school? I think all of this should be taught at school, about planets, space, space travel, galaxies, possibilities...

You'd be surprised how many people I've met and whom i know, who don't even think about these stuff, don't try to imagine those galaxies, infinity of them...

I like to think that if we are alive at least we should know that we are those things, made from them... We should know about ourselves

There is no question in my mind that there is intelligent life in the Universe! As we all know Earth is in the Milky-way Galaxy! Scientist's say there are more star's in the Milky-way Galaxy, then there is all the grains of sand on Planet Earth.

If there really is other life out there, I'm sure they have all communicated with each by now and marked earth and our solar system off limits

The question is, How long will it take us to get to them?…

What if the creatures we find out there are just humans only.

Excellent analysis of these promising and "beckoning" planets. However, these planets are so far away, many lightyears off that it seems entirely irrelevant whether they could support life or not. The chance of going there within even a few lifetimes seems pretty low to me.

Yes, other life is possible but but most humans will be long gone before one is found and longer to get their.

To think that we are the only ones in the universe is actually very arrogant of us

Like always, Shout out to the camera man for going to go visit these planets

Some planets out there are similar to Earth and support life of some kind. If they were formed before our Earth, by some millions of years, the life forms there would be more advanced than ours if they followed the same kind of evolution.

Just some observations...

I'm rather surprised that the Trappist planets weren't included on this list.

I'm puzzled as to why an asteroid was included. I wouldn't think it could be very habitable even though it lies within the 'goldilocks' zone.

As another person here pointed out, the high gravity of Super Earths would make a human visit rather unfeasible. I don't believe those would be good candidates for anything other than remote study and exploration.

Anyplace would be better than Earth as long as the US government it's there yet .

Humankind shouldn't venture to other worlds...until we have made Earth a paradise first.🧐
