Emerald, Before you go crazy with your grease gun just know you CAN overgrease bearings. That's why the manufacturer normally puts a lubrication chart and recommends hours of use and number of pumps per bearing. Take a look.

I used to grease farm machines after the shutdown, during cleanup every day.Back when I was a boy, before sealed bearings were a big thing, the routine was to pump about two squirts into each bearing. I would wipe off the dirt first, and when i pumped, grease coming out along the shaft would be gray or black; and if that is wiped off, another squirt of grease would usually show fresh yellow grease. That's all you need. Then you have to wipe off the mess, so it doesn't attract dirt, and it doesn't fly all over the product, or the machine and the workers. After a few days you know the count for each bearing you service every day. Make sure its clean before you go on to the next one! A big glob of grease splattering on a nice piece of walnut kind of ruins a good piece of furniture wood.

Unless the bearings zert fitting rotates when engaged, I would extend the zert out with some flex line, also you might want to check out the service manual on how much to grease it, those should be sealed bearings, if you over grease them they will blow out. And shortened to bearing life a lot

What type of bearing is it? Careful to not over grease it. Too much and it will generate more heat and the rollers or ball bearings can’t roll properly and cause failure.
I was maintenance manager at a pallet mill for 22years and seen a lot more damage by people over greasing.
But you are definitely doing the right thing by making sure it is done. Well done

Yea usually the toughest grease fitting to get to is the most critical. Good point in another comment, see if the manufacturer offers a remote set up so you can get to the fitting easier or get one yourselfs to take care of it.
