I honestly expected something far superior than what we were presented with. This is clearly a hybrid of existing hardware and a spin on existing technology with an attempt to package it as an all new superior offering. Sadly, the more time I’ve had to digest what was presented and the amount of time leading up to the debut of this new machine, the more I am disappointed. if this is the best that Garrett can do, the future is dim for the brand.

Can you put new rechargeable batteries in it in the field if the batteries go dead or do you have to go home and plug it in and recharge it

I'm curious, does it make a difference between gold and aluminum foil in target id

I assume the target ID will be altered depending on the level of ground minerals. Real world (in the ground) testing will tell the tale.

For a machine that was overly hyped with “ The Storm Is Coming” teasers for months I was expecting more. It’s basically a re cycled APEX with a new shaft & paint job. Nothing ground breaking at all. I would have expected to see more features and definitely more audio options for the amount of time you’ve spent in R&D. The software is nothing new is it? It’s basically Simultaneous MF with a maximum of 25khz? Come on garrett you’re not even trying here. This machine won’t even make any waves in the market at all, considering you have Minelab, Nokta & XP all offering budget machines with great features. If you’d made the hardware and software great and something different to start with I think you may of been in with a chance, but unfortunately you’ve dropped the ball here big time. You need to go back to the drawing board and come up with an offering that’s really going to turn heads with the wow factor. Not just offer a pretty mediocre at best machine with purchasable software options.

Why isn't a metal detector being developed that can descriminate aluminum? Iron metal is no problem, but you always have to dig aluminum. Unfortunately.
