Trump's first impeachment - 2020
The House Judiciary Committee voted along party lines to reject an amendment that would have removed the “abuse of power” article from the two articles of impeachment that have been announced against President Donald Trump. The House Judiciary Committee on Dec. 12 considered revisions to the articles of impeachment and voted on whether to send those articles to the full U.S. House of Representatives. Democrats on Tuesday filed two articles of impeachment against Trump -- abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. Ahead of the amendment vote, Rep. Jerrold Nadler, the chair of the House Judiciary Committee, pushed back on Republicans’ arguments against the abuse of power charge.
