Woodturning - Can Tab Opener

The best kitchen & bar tool you didn’t know you wanted. Until now.

All joking aside, the can tab opener tip from Niles Bottlestoppers is so well made, it transcends all other similar tools. For some people this tool can save your fingernails. For others it will substitute for a fingernail that has broken off and not yet grown back. With the right handle it will also work wonders for people with low grip strength or those who find opening some pull-tab containers painful.

This can tab opener is actually useful for opening soda cans, beer cans, pull tab soup cans and a bunch of other containers with a similar opening. The Niles Bottlestoppers website even claims this tool can be used to pop the seal on glass jars with a vacuum sealed metal lid. We’ll see about that one toward the end of the video.

I’ve been using a kitchen knife to release the vacuum on jar lids. This gadget would make my cutlery last longer 😄. Pop top cans - mmm… I’ll give the gadget half score because it beats a kitchen knife for getting the ring up off the lid but the lids don’t work any better. I’m keeping my can opener.
