Do you have or plan to get Citi cards? Why or why not? ⬇

Citi definitely has some underrated cards. The one thing that stops me from being a big fan of their ecosystem is their small rules and quirks that can be really annoying. For example, them taking away certain Mastercard benefits like cell phone protection (particularly on the Custom Cash) as well as the fact that they don't allow you to transfer points from your Custom Cash to a family member or spouse's account. Those are just the annoying little things that I've come across so far, but they do have some powerful cards, particularly with their earning categories. Great video Kevin!

Citi has some very solid cards. The only one I have myself is the Custom Cash. Definitely interested to see what happens with the possible new/revamped travel cards this year.

Citi has good cards with great multipliers! The lack of travel protections keeps me away from them for now. Great video and information 👍

Citi does have some very underrated cards! The Custom Cash is a must have to use as a dedicated Card for a specific spending category!

I love Chase & Amex. However, Citi & Capital One both have solid credit cards that could be a better fit than any Chase or Amex card.

You could change the premier after the sub to another custom cash and have two of the categories covered at 5 percent with no af. You can even throw in a third one with some ambition. Throw in the rewards+ and double cash and it's a party. Woo 🎉

I’m definitely going to get a Citi Custom Cash to lock in that 5% back on gas. I’d like to get the Citi Double Cash to reach that 2% baseline on everything else, but the Wells Fargo Active Cash can also do 2%, and it comes with a welcome bonus, unlike the Double Cash. I’d really like to get the Double Cash so I can manage my cash back rewards all in one place, but it’s hard to argue with the Active Cash’s welcome bonus. If the Double Cash had a welcome bonus it would be a no-brainer.

Just flew Japan Airlines first class into Tokyo from SFO. Incredible experience for only 80k miles. Had to reposition to Seattle first then to SFO . Then onto Tokyo but it was the best flight I’ve ever taken. I fly biz class back to Seattle on Japan Airlines for 60k. American Airlines wanted 300k each way from Chicago I think. Flying onto Thailand on EVA in business class from Tokyo. With an overnight stop in Taiwan which could be interesting. If you can book that first class Japan Airlines ticket book it. Even if you have to reposition. It’s worth it. Once in a lifetime experience.

the million $ question is, when are the Strata cards coming out. I heard its at the end of this month but since they bumped up the SUB on Premier and Rewards + I have a feeling they will postpone the release again :(

I don't Think Any Other Card rather than custom cash worth keeping from citi taken into consideration other options available in market

Thanks for sharing! I need some suggestions from y'all about choosing between citi trifecta vs chase trifecta

I have a citi premier (TYP: 15000), CFU & CFF (UR:42000) right now, but I am kinda struggling choosing my next one to max out my rewards.

Casual traveling in the US (3 to 5 times a year), and outside of US to Asia (1 to 3 times a year)
Monthly credit card spend: $1500 ~ $3000
Most spend category: hotel = flight > grocery > shopping > restaurant > others

Option 1:
a. Citi Custom Cash: I go to concert really often, so that 5x live entertainment category would be helpful during ticket sale seasons
b. Citi Rewards: 10% extra points transferred to airline partners

Concern: I used my 90w TYP last month for flight ticket $1:1TYP (REALLY bad decision!). And now I only got 15K TYP available. Is it worth if I start accumulating my TYP with both cards above?

Option 2:
a. Chase Sapphire Preferred: Welcome bonus + 1UR: 1.25. Can add it up to my current UR 40K to exchange flight ticket.

Concern: Not sure how I can maxmize my rewards since most categories are 2x.

I am still new to the world of credit cards, so feel free to correct me if I was wrong on any details above.

What qualifications do you need for citi customs cash ? Which bureau do they pull from?

The downside to Citi (Premier), if you cancel you have 90 days to use the points.

My wife got pre-approve offer via mail for custom cash, $200 cashback after spending $750 ( Half of normal spending requirement) : Data point --> Citi states that she is already Citi customer, so it is a special offer. My wife has checking account with citibank.
