In Invincible after the heroes on Earth are saved by Darkwing and Sinclair’s reanimen, who were sent by Cecil
They help free the heroes and subdue Doc Seismic but in the aftermath, Mark attacks Darkwing, who he had previously arrested on Cecil’s orders for the murders committed in Night City
Cecil teleports in and tells Mark to stand down as he wonders why no one else seems to know what Darkwing did
Mark flies away to clear his head, certain that Cecil covered up these crimes and wonders why
He goes directly to confront Cecil, calling Darkwing a murderer that should be in jail, but Cecil fires back that by his own logic, Mark himself should’ve been arrested for the murder of Angstrom Levy
The final straw is when DA Sinclair walks into the room, the mad scientist who experimented on live human subjects, causing Mark to crash out completely
But Cecil has a contingency plan for every scenario and lures an unsuspecting Mark into the white room where he is ambushed by a horde of reanimen

I always loved how Invincible handled the plight of a true hero. Mark goes from a self righteous kid trying to be better than his Father only to further become him understanding where he comes from. He tried so hard to be a hero but murder followed him everywhere he went

Okay, Darkwing I can understand as he was at least a hero at one point who could be redeemed. Sinclar on the hand, yeah I'd kinda draw a line there considering how evil that basterd is.

I can't believe Cecil was dumb enough to think that he could equate Mark killing Angstrom Levy to Darkwing and Sinclair killing and maiming innocents.

Im with Mark on this one, Levy shouldnt be an exception but at the same time he wouldnt have stopped until either he killed Mark or the other way around. Sinclair ruined many lives by turning live humans into cyborgs and putting them through pain and grief while in the process and Darkwing literally just went on a full murder spree killing any criminal that crosses him. Mark only killed cause he literally had no other choice

Cecil could have just used Omni Man as an argument, but he chose to use Levy instead?

In Cecil’s defense, he does have a very tough job to do and no doubt wants to avoid another “ Omni Man” situation creates contingency plans for everyone. So for Cecil this means cutting deals for people like Sinclair that have useful abilities and tech or powers but can be controlled.

Angstrom technically knows all the universes he’s in so he’s seen all the marks that have done horrible things, yes it was bad he did it to the only good mark. But in countless others where mark killed endless people I’d be skeptical too.
