Great too see these horses being worked. Sure they could do much bigger logs.

Couple of these horses were working in a forest near me a few years ago. The area was too small for machines but perfect for horses. Big horses and so handsome

I remember my neighbor cultivating our garden with his mule, and how stubborn and aggravating Buckshot was to deal with. He would eat apples off the tree when he was tied up and his farts would knock a mountain man down

What a gorgious pair working their soles off they sould have a log lift but im not a teamster i see horses pull logs twice the size 2 at a time with log buggy it gets the front in air makes it lot easyer to drag instead of plowing up every rock and stump

Thoroughbreds get the are dramatic and admired, but the draft horses and mules were the greatest help to mankind.

A long and heavy log is the best kind.. 👍

put a small sledge on the front of that log, it would make the work far easier.

The cream colored drafty needed his handler to trim that tree down.

The horses work so hard, are they rewarded with a good brushing afterwards? Thank you for sharing!

Could someone fashion a "log cart", to raise the log up on 2 wheels, which would make these loads "better" for these horses?

How do they know the horse won't get hurt? I mean sprain something?

Great work by these tremendous horses; the shoeing doesn't seem to be the right kind for this kind of work, they need a better grip!

Do you blokes do contracts together of felling and hauling out the timber? Or are the tree felling jobs more - one man/1horse and a tree cutter type of thing?
However, I see that there's a lot of danger in this work for you and your horses.
I guess many of you have lost your lives.

This is all for entertainment. It’s not necessary to work horses so hard.
