Rolls-Royce | Making a Fan Blade

Показать описание
Rolls-Royce wide chord fan blades are designed to be hollow in order to save weight, while still being sturdy.

About 80 processes are involved in producing the hollow titanium fan blade, and we use millions of data points to measure our fan blade's dimensions to the accuracy of half the width of a strand of hair.

Together, the fan blades can move a tonne of air per second and are responsible for 85% of an engine’s thrust.
