What bad control arm bushings sound like on a 1991 Volvo 240...

I took a quick video to help those who may be having some squeaking in their front suspension, and aren't sure where to start.

Originally, I thought my squeaks had to do with the strut mounts, or the swaybar bushings. Once those options had been explored, I narrowed it down to the rear control arm bushings.

This is really for anyone like myself, who's not yet familiar with their 200 series Volvo, and needs a little help. Hope it helps someone.

Have a 2007 Volvo s60r all wheel drive car while going over bumps you have a rubbing noise in the rear changed almost everything and still not find it

I am about to replace the control arm bushings on a 240. Do you happen to know if the old bushings can be difficult to remove from the control arms, i.e. requiring any special equipment? I'm considering replacing the control arms themselves, and if the bushing are extremely difficult to extract that would be further reason to do so.

Pardon my ignorance; but if it squeaks like that you have to REPLACE the bushings? They look pretty solid- what if you just sprayed some lubricant on the place where it squeaks? (something like white lithium that wouldn't harm the rubber).

Thanks man! 2003 Ford Expedition makes this exact sound. I believe mines is the rear right lower control arm. Should I replace both sides?

Do the new control arms come with the rear frame mounts?

i just took mine off (93 245) and they were absolutely perfect im kinda mad I replaced them as they were made in West Germany, even the ones on the arm itself are still really good after 200k+. Your car must have a lot miles on it!
