Hi Mr H, another great video many thanks for making it. I remember the k6 telephone boxes with the old A+B coin boxes in them. to make a call you had to go through the operator. Also in later years the George crown was removed and replaced with an Elizabeth II crown.

Very interesting piece of information, particularly for me, I joined the GPO telephones in 1970 ( good old days!) through the privatisation, until 2013. Enjoying your channel very much, well done! 👍🏻

I read somewhere that in London they are turning them into Wi-Fi hotspots. Since cellphones are everywhere they still exist until removed.

I feel the same way, it will be a sad loss to British heritage if all the telephone boxes are removed. They are a
real Icon and in places where these boxes can still be found people should be encouraged to adopt them and actually take care of them.

Millbrooke Southampton Hampshire we had three of these red phone boxes round our area they were a thing of beauty then they replace them with some ghastly looking metal and plastic if you can call it a phone box what’s there not to me personally they look like a piece of poop to be polite. Thank you for your interesting videos you make.🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

i agree with you, mobiles have killed public phones, sadly the price of progress.

As an item of celebrity trivia of no use to anyone whatsoever : when Tom Jones lived in California, he had one shipped over and installed in his back garden. I don't know why I know this because I'm not even a fan of Tom Jones 😞

It will probably end up on a rubbish tip ready for landfill, along with all our other broken dreams.
