About me:
I am a wife, mom and CRNA (certified registered nurse anesthetist). I went to nursing school to get my ADN, started working and then went back for my BSN. I was a travel nurse for 2 years before starting CRNA school. I loved travel nursing so much but I also love anesthesia so I went back to school to become a CRNA. Fitness is a huge part of my life. I've competed in powerlifting and Crossfit. Jon and I own a gym together. We are vegan because we are both huge animal lovers. We are also foster parents!

What is the most important factor for you?!

Great job breaking down the cost/benefit of being a CRNA!

Your honesty about these sort of things is so awesome. I kind of expected you to immediately be like “of course it’s always worth it, it’s your passion, who cares about the cost, etc.” but you really laid out the facts. It’s important for people to be fully aware of what they are getting into when choosing a career and you’re a fantastic advocate of that. Not a CRNA, but love your vids just because you’re awesome!

I can't believe your so honest and open about everything . You are the model of how and what someone who provides career advice should be . Sweet is to sour as Rhianna is to politician lol . It's refreshing to hear honest media .

I would argue that it's only worth it financially if you are going to save up to pay cash, or work part-time during school to keep loans to a minimum and/or live well below your means for the first few years after graduating to pay those debts off. Someone who makes 80k and saves/invest 30k a year ends up wealthier than someone who makes 230k but only saves/invests 10k. As you said, no amount makes it worth it if you plan on doing this for 20 years and aren't passionate about it. Also, you look gorgeous per usual.

Girl I’ve been following you from the beginning. You’ve always been super motivating and I’m so proud of you . After years of trying to transfer from the OPerating room, I finally was able to transfer to a cticu . No one wanted to give me a chance because I was an OR nurse . They all recommended doing medSurg first . I was determined not to do that because crna was always my goal . After working with so many crna, and them pushing me, and me sending hundreds of applications hoping some one would take me into an icu . I finally got in .

You’ve also motivated me to save, save, save . I’m super cheap . The only thing I spend my money on is food . I’ve managed to save 70k. Hopefully in the next two years I can save up to 150k. The cticu is so hard and I feel so stupid, but I’m determined to make it . I’m at a disadvantage because of my chronic fatigue and lupus but I know where there is a will there is a way . Thank you for letting us follow your pathway .

This is such an important question for people to ask themselves before starting grad school. It comes down to picking an affordable school and making sure the numbers work in the long run. For many people it is helpful to find a hospital that will pay for school. One of my friends found a small hospital in NY that is paying his whole way through CRNA school so he will be debt-free and raking in the dough. Great information love the video!

You are so right! Can't do this job for the money because it is becomes your life. It really must be a passion so you will love what you do as you go through the grueling process of getting to your end goal

First off, congratulations on completing your journey to become a CRNA. I have been watching your videos throughout your journey, and you are definitely an inspiration to many people who are in various phases or steps in becoming a CRNA. I am about to start my journey very soon, and I am excited but so nervous at the same time. I know it will be very challenging and tiring, but I feel confident and ready to start my journey. I have shadowed many crnas and I know this is my passion. I will hold on to my passion and hang on for the ride while I’m in school. Great video!

I agree with you... Passion! I always say if you love what you do then it makes everything you do easier. As a nurse everyone always says I make things look so easy and I always remind them it's because I LOVE what I do as a nurse. ❤️

I have my doubts about going this path vs travel nursing. Currently in second semester of my ADN program and love it so far!

So how exactly does one job shadow a crna, as a person who isn’t yet in the medical field ?
