Great project, Mike! I'm probably going to be building a similar table soon, cool to see your take on it! One thing: you might have some issues with wood movement on that top. Wood will expand and contract seasonally, and by boxing it in with the border, the wood can't move freely. This might cause some bowing in the middle of the table or cracking on the border. Just an FYI for you, probably don't really need that outer ring.
