I think the turtleneck society is likely entirely an ironic ruse. The following are quotes from their bios on the Indiegogo page.

Also, the indiegogo page says they only have 4 supporters each of which donated an average of 63 bucks. Each supporter also happens to be in a different category. One supporter is missing and the total when you add up the claimed prizes is short about 18 bucks which just happens to be one of the other prizes which had no claims. Clearly, that donation was supposed to be a claim for the 18 bucks slot but they messed up which seems an awfully odd coincidence that a person tried and failed to properly claim what just so happened to be the last type of reward.
Finally, their twitter seems suspicious and a lot of the connected bio accounts seem to be dead, but I quit researching because I had spent like 30 minutes preparing a youtube comment and that is way too long.
