In 1980, I was 20. Working as a brand new Paramedic on the ambulance. My Paramedic partner, Penny was 34. She started as an ambulance attendant in 1969. She really knew her stuff and trained me well.
We worked the entire 80s decade together and even much longer (most of our EMS careers). We listened to this music constantly on duty and off. It brings back great memories for me.
Little did we know that we would fall in love, eventually becoming husband and wife. I knew her for a total of 43 great years, the best times of our lives. We lived together for 30 years, married 15 of them (I was her second husband).
Unfortunately, Penny died suddenly, May 2020. She had over 53 years of service before she passed.
I can tell they don't make women like Penny anymore. I love and miss you, my wonderful wife.
But life goes on.
