This was my life….17 year’s old in 1985, senior year in high school. My dad bought a brand new, black, 85 Z28 IROC. First year of the IROC. He let me cruise it on the weekend once in awhile with my buddies. I was a frigin rock star on those nights. Coincidence that we rolled with the hottest chics those nights? Nope. It was the car. These songs coming out of the awesome sound system…..we felt like God’s.

THIS was literally how my Dad described living in the US in the 80s. Whether he was driving a Camero, a Porsche, or Corvette, he was always jamming to those (at the time) 'new hits'

I was born in 85 so the 1st memories of music in the car were these great songs. Even as a toddler I always loved music in car rides, just zoning out and letting the music dictate the feelings. Little did I know how many times I'd do the exact same thing, on the same roads, to the same songs decades later.

I've been fixing up a 86 Vette for my first car, and its the most fun I've ever had in a car. Always a story to tell, always some sort of excitement. It puts a smile on mine and everyone's faces around it over how quirky and weird it is.
