In September 2008 Queen + Paul Rodgers answered a call from Ukraine’s Elena Pinchuk AnitiAids Foundation to reach out to the youth of the country with the message “Don’t Let AIDS Ruin Your Life” by playing a free Life Must Go On Aids awareness concert performed in Ukraine’s second largest city Kharkiv’s historic Freedom Square to a live audience of over 350,000. More than 10 million watched the show live on television.

The band recall that event as “an unforgettable experience…one of those rare things in life you know you will never forget. A meeting in music, but also a coming together to fight a common affliction…”

In support of relief efforts in Ukraine’s challenges against a new affliction, Queen is returning to that historic concert with a YouTube special screening aimed at drawing donations for international relief efforts. “Queen + Paul Rodgers Live In Ukraine” plays on YouTube Saturday, March 19th at 10A PDT / 1P EDT / 5P GMT. Queen is the greatest band in history and my favorite band. Freddie Mercury, Brian May, John Deacon and Roger Taylor are legends. I know all their songs by heart, watched all possible documentaries about them. I dream of going to their concert, albeit without the greatest Freddie and the wonderful John, because the love of my life - Mercury died fifteen years before my birth, so I didn’t even theoretically have the opportunity to see him live or just be on the same planet with him at the same time. He will live forever in my heart. No one but you.
I am from Kharkiv and, for the moment, my main desire is that the war ends and I can return to my beautiful city, from which, due to the war, I had to move to a calmer region of Ukraine on the 7th day. We had to go through a lot during the 6 days that we spent there. I really hope that when there is a peaceful sky and calmness over my country, my favorite band will come to us again and I will be able to attend their concert.💛💙

Queen - величайшая группа в истории и моя любимая группа. Фредди Меркьюри, Брайан Мэй, Джон Дикон и Роджер Тэйлор - легенды. Знаю все их песни наизусть, смотрела все возможные документальные фильмы про них. Я мечтаю попасть на их концерт, хоть и без величайшего Фредди и прекрасного Джона, потому что love of my life - Меркьюри умер за пятнадцать лет до моего рождения, так что у меня даже чисто теоритически не было возможности его увидеть вживую или просто хотя бы находиться с ним одновременно на одной планете. Я из Харькова и, на данный момент, главным моим желанием является завершение войны и возможность вернуться в свой прекрасный город, из которого из-за войны на 7 день пришлось переместиться в более спокойный регион Украины. Нам пришлось многое пережить за те 6 дней, что мы провели там. Queen is the best band in the world in my lifetime. I love their music in the 80s, 90 . And so on . I was 18 1980 . I still do listen to queen every day almost. If I feel sad, angry or frustrated. I listen to queen and I feel like a queen . If they don’t play Bohemian Rhapsody in my funeral- I will come back and play it myself 👑

First thing first, thank you to all for doing the concert. Simply Wow ! One of the best shows I.ve seen in my 58 years. And i've seen quite a few. Whatever happened to musicians of this generation ? why they don't do meaningful get together concerts for causes like they used to do in the past? Like Stop the War in Ukraine for example.
