WACOM ONE 1st Gen. - Review

The Wacom One is Wacom’s most affordable display tablet to date. Today I’ll be reviewing the Wacom One from a digital artist’s perspective.

This is not a sponsored video, but Wacom did send me the Wacom One and the Staedtler Noris pen unconditionally to review as I please. As always, all opinions in the review are my own.

For those who still consider this too "expensive", you guys know that there are cheaper alternatives right?

Back in the day, "affordable" meant a $1200 Cintiq 13HD which was pure BS. I'm simply glad that they're making efforts to bring prices down. And for the love of god, it's actually cheaper than an Intuos Pro Medium, which is just a "regular" graphic tablet. I appreciate the leaps and bounds they did to achieve that feat, with a little help from competitors of course!

Somehow, people will always find ways to complain and ramble. I bet if Wacom releases something like a "Wacom One Mini" that's 10 inches small and costs $250, some pent-up folks will still scream "ToO ExPeNSiVe....nOT fOR Me!". Complaining requires a lot of emotional energy, which you should instead be using to work and grind harder to save up for an alternative display tablet so you can actually get one (my suggestion: the XP-Pen 12). Just saying.

On a side note, I might be getting one of these boys so that I can have something to take with me on-the-go. I have the 16-inch, but like you said, it's way too bulky, at least for my backpack and my aching back :(

Thanks for this review though, gave me a load of new insights apart from the other review vids already done. Cheers!

I’ve been avoiding Wacom for quite a while because I’m broke lol. I’m going to take leap and get this one. Glad they are releasing more budget options

Aaron, I would like to say that you answered every question I had and even questions I didn't even know were very important to ask but you covered it all. Thank you very much for taking the time and effort to make this excellent review!

Well damn, now I wish I hadn''t bought the Huion Kamvas Pro 13 a year ago, as I always liked Wacom. But I'm going to stick with the Huion for now, and console myself that the Huion, besides being 100 bucks cheaper, has twice the pressure levels, better color gamut, slightly better brightness, it's got buttons, and I like the pen. Specs and set-up are otherwise much the same., and Huion has pretty much fixed the old driver issues. I also wish Wacom had heeded the call for an affordable display tablet much sooner.

Hmm, this seems like a step in the right direction for Wacom.

I was just researching drawing tablets when I discovered this just came out. I'm a hobbyist digital artist trying to break into being more professional, but I just can't justify the money for a cintiq right now. I'm coming from a Sony Vaio flip that I had for 6 years and honestly loved for drawing and I got a Suface Go as a temporary replacement until I could get a desktop set up. But the Go is not doing it for me. From the reviews, this will definitely be a step up from the Go in terms of smoothness of drawing. This is absolutely perfect timing.

They also released in the Cintiq (no Pro line) 22... If I were to pick one, that'd be it.
But you got wrong one thing. There *IS* Touch capability. You can touch it...

What bothers me is the lack of two buttons. Some programs require a middle mouse button to navigate and right click to enter in some strokes. Hopefully I can figure out a work around in the actual software, because everything else looks awesome

This is a dream come true, I have a Cintique Pro 16 inch, love it but too many wires, too big and time consuming to take out of my home, needed something to take with my laptop to work, library, trips to relatives homes etc. and there is literally NOTHING out there on the market that matches the Wacom quality, only other option I found was the a Ipad Pro ($1000). It's like they made this exactly for me! :)

I see Wacom had bent to the will of the consumer. Finally, they realized everyone will not spend 3k on a drawing tablet. I will wait for about a year or so to see how well and better they get. I can always get one as an extra tablet. I also have the statelier pencil and it works well on my TABS3.

So glad Wacom released this. I have tried several other drawing tablets from the other companies that friends have had success with and myself have had 0 success with even after hours with the CSRs of the companies and many exchanges. Always the same issues with non Wacom tablet, where the pen is touching the screen is never where the mouse is. So thank you Wacom, I can finally switch from a screenless tablet to one with a screen at a reasonable price.

Gets me curious how long lasting the cables of the Wacom One pen display are. I heard that a couple other brands have issues not only with drivers, but cables as well. What I do know though is Wacom things, under normal daily use, will start breaking but refuse to die in 5 years time.

Over here, Wacom One is marketed as Wacom Cintiq Ceres

Dang, this is looking pretty nice. And here I was complaining about the price of Wacom stuff not but like a week or so ago. The only real critique I can lob against this is the lack of buttons on the thing, which is unfortunate since I'm used to having shortcut keys on my old Intuos 4 and the express key remote they sell is severely overpriced (seriously, almost $100 extra). The build quality of this seems way more stable than something like a Huion or XP-Pen, though, so I guess in the end it's kind of a tradeoff? Overall, nice. Man, I don't know what to get, now...

Very informative - thanks. I'm almost pissed with Wacom. I financed a Cintiq Pro 13 which ended up making it $1500. And now here it is for like $300? How is this not it?
Cintiq Pro 13 vs Wacom One? That's my video suggestion.

I have Wacom One graphic tablet. I have been using it for almost 2 years and as a beginner digital artist I really love it.
