Remote Robotic Surgery

Leveraging Japan’s first surgical robot, Professor Jimmy So and Asst Prof Kim Guowei from the Department of Surgery at #NUSMedicine are part of the team performing a gastrectomy remotely from a surgeon cockpit, while the robotic operation unit replicating their movement, is in Nagoya, Japan, 5000 km away. This is the first robotic telesurgery trial between Singapore and Japan, a collaboration between #NUSMedicine and NUH, with Fujita Health University.
