An accomplished neurosurgeon, photographer, and sculpture, Ivar is the founder of the Brain Repair Centre and a groundbreaker in remote, robotic brain surgery. He is pioneering remote presence medical technology aimed at narrowing the gap of healthcare inequality in developing countries. In 2002, Dr. Mendez and his team performed the first long-distance robotic telementoring neurosurgery in the world.
