It might be a electronic Vac Purge Pump, To ensure Boost solenoids shut and air is Expelled, Normal operating Vacuum Is usually supplied by the same line as the Brake master cylinder pump, this only runs when engine is on, But on Diesel's Boost is controlled by solenoid valves, My Peugeot 807 HDI, Had a small pump to purge the vac lines, You usually hear a sound after shutting off the engine for a few seconds, It is quite noisy, If it wasn't working properly you would get anti pollution errors on the HUD, Or starting problems, cos the turbo and stuff will be at idle position and not reset :) Hope that is useful

No, mine still does it. I think it has something to do with the vacuum supply reservoir...

I have the same noise near my EGR valve. Kia Optima SX Limited 2014 (it is a GDI turbo).
