These food habits changes from sect to sect .
For eg. Shaiva, smartha and Vaishnava brahmins don't eat Non veg but we Shakta Brahmin do .

Kashmiri Brahmins are eat meat massively, Bengali Brahmins love their fish, Konkan brahmins eat plenty of meat and fish as well. I think it's just just boils down to preference as well as how orthodox and controlling the elders in your family are.

Eating is a matter of preference. One way of food exploration. If a non-veg person wants to eat veg food, people don't view that person differently but if a vegan wants to try non-veg, everybody raises their brows. Personally, I won't eat non-veg as I love birds and animals, but if someone wants to eat non-veg let them do so.

Aur bahut log bhraman nahi hote fir bhi veg hote hai
