Underglaze Decals for Decorating Pottery

This is how I use underglaze transfers, also called underglaze decals to decorate my handmade pottery mugs. I usually apply the transfer to leather hard greenware, as this works better than using them on bisque pottery. Once they have been bisque fired, I glaze them and fire them at stoneware temperatures, which seals the decal even though it hasn't been glazed all over.

Coloured decals? Do you have them custom made? I thought they always turned out sepia!

Beautiful until you added blue glaze at top - it's too much contrast to decal. But the technique is very interesting.
