Bose is missing a lot of minor components but I think the sound quality is better and so is the ANC. Bose seems to have fixed their software issues from previous models as well. I don't really care about wireless charging and case could be smaller but its not terrible. Sony might have a better OVERALL product but for ANC & sound quality I kept the Bose.

Worth noting that the Bose QC II's are the only TWS sets I own which are completely unusable for exercise. They have the absolute worst popping sound when doing anything vigorous. ANC and comfort are otherwise excellent. Upper mids / lower treble are a little too elevated for me, but for the most part I find the comfort makes up for it.

For reference I also own APP2, XM4, MTW3, N400, Powerbeats Pro, Buds+ and some others.

I got the QC Ultra four days ago. First of all the connection is really problematic but improved considerably when I reset network settings on my iphone. On android it is way smoother ( I think the connection is an iPhone issue). Yes, there is a very slight hiss on the left earbud when it isn't playing any sound. To be honest, the ANC on this is CRAZY. I barely hear any sound when I clap loudly. I haven't tested the Sony Wf-1000xm5 but I own the over ear Wh-1000xm5 which is equally great at noise cancelling. I can't compare the ANC on both because they spot different form factor. I think the ultras are worth keeping and I am keeping mine.

Had both, returned the Sony’s. Sony’s didn’t seal well in my ear, causing poor audio and noise cancelling. Even tried three different 3rd party buds for it. Bose immersive works great and doesn’t require a subscription like Sony requires and the subscription included very few songs I like. And the Bose noise cancelling is the best. I use the Bose over the AirPods even though using iPhone and iPad.

Bose fits so well and are so comfortable, but the left earbud makes a static sound that bugs me. I went through 2 and they both had the problems. Does anyone else have the same problem? Or is there anyone with a pair that doesn't have this problem? Should I give up on the Bose for the Sony?

XM4 ANC is almost the same as Google Pixel Buds Pro and it seems that XM5 is almost the same as XM4
Bose QC II is way better than XM4 and XM5 (which are almost the same)
Bose QC Ultra is way better than the rest
