I used to crop spray with Kamovs, and the yaw control is extremely slow, and has a 2 second delay. It creates a huge vortex like bi-planes, which means, that there is an enormous power loss during forward flight. And during the hover the lower blade receives a lot of turbulence. The amount of energy saved by the counter rotating blade is kind of lost due to the disturbed airflow. It has some advantages over some speed range, and it is a lot safer than having a tail rotor, but it is only good for very specific tasks.

You missed a key point: Un like normal or other helicopters if the tail is hit it can still be controlled when others fall out due to the loss of counter rotation.

the KA-52 alligator doesnt do anything unique, with the sole exceptions of having ehection seats and being pretty much the only helicopter that can shoot itself down. its hot steaming garbage and more of them were shot down in a single day than its american equivalent were shot down in 20 years.
