Love your bubbly personality. Would totally trust you with my grandpa, most precjous man on Earth. Working with the elderly community, and for the past 5 yrs with special need adults, I've become immune to code browns. I truly believe it takes a special person to be in the medical field. You're heart is either in it or not.

Why did I just discover you now?? You’re so awesome, speak the truth and so entertaining!! ❤️ The best thing about nursing is there are so many options!! I’ve been a nurse for about 28 years. I spent the first 24 years working pediatrics which was what I loved-I preferred little “poop” 😂 But a few years ago, I felt the need for change and wanted to go a different direction while I am still motivated to learn and I was ready to try something new. So I started doing adult outpatient oncology. I was blessed enough for my managers to take a chance on me and train me even though I had no oncology experience. They counted my 24 years of nursing experience a plus!! Four years later, I’m still loving this job and still continuing to learn. Thanks for putting up this video! Nursing has endless possibilities! ❤️

Soo.
1) I would like to work in pediatric, but I think I can't handle with the patience, I lost patience very easy, and for work in pediatric, you must have a lot of patience.
2) I think non trauma is better for me, I think I can't handle the amount of work of trauma.
3) definitley big hospital.
4) I would like to work in teaching hospital, I want to teach to new nurses what they didn't teach me when I was student, all the things that I had to learn by my self.
6) I like a lot being in car, but I would like to go by walking to my jobs.
Now...I only need to find the specialties that is for me.

I'm a Korean student nurse. I was surprized when I heard that American nurses can choose non teaching hospital. There are many options in the state. It's interesting.

I tear up thinking about trauma and helping people on their worst day. I think trauma is for me. I really like busy work and thrive under pressure. I’m starting nursing school next fall and hope I get enough training to be successful in trauma. The only thing that scares me about trauma is not being skilled enough. I don’t know why I have such bad anxiety about that. I guess I will learn once I get in the field and I know for a fact that my nursing school is a good program.

I was hoping you'd talk about whether the person wants to deal with patients directly or more of administration

I'm in Ocala, Florida and we definitely have the small town/small hospital drama! I've seen patients all over town, like at Publix :-P

What would you recommend for a teacher stepping into nursing?

No matter what type of nursing you want to do, you need to start in a unit where the staff NURTURE their new nurses. Your orientation time is critical to your success. If the unit is too busy to provide an adequate orientation, you will not learn what you need to learn in order to become a competent nurse. Some older nurses can be unpleasant & unhelpful because they’re burned out. Some may think that because they learned the hard way, you should too. Some older nurses are just plain mean. One of the hardest things to learn is how to stand up for yourself when you are a new RN.
