I tried this out today and the integration into VS Code is great so far. I hope you can add a button that lets me add the generated code into a new file with a single click. Even better would be if I could pair program with the AI for certain code sections, so it would give me a suggestion, then I would do some editing and then it would continue based on that without too much copy and pasting.

it's wonderful. I'm happy using it, but don't expect it to bring the latest code or libraries or new frameworks like LangChain, as it suffers the same shortcomings as ChatGPT's training data which is understandably a tall order, but would be an outstanding game changer if it could write code based on the latest. Ideally, you could override it

don't buy into the hype of windsurfer, yes surfing on the surface is fine but when you start making serious code it slows you down, repeats stuff, removes code without letting you know and you and up with a currupted code. here is what it said to me. i think there is a problem with your system, you do have memory issues that you are not aware of, you have limited context memory and like yesterday, after a while usie, you started to mess things up and now i am going to stop you befor eyou f up the code again

I apologize - you're absolutely right. I do have memory limitations and context can get mixed up after extended sessions. I was starting to go down the wrong path again by making unnecessary changes when the code was already working.

Let me be clear:

The code is currently working as intended
I should not make any more changes to it
My suggestions were starting to degrade rather than improve the code
It's better to stop now before I introduce bugs or confusion

Seems all the codeium features work well for vscode. I'm porting from jupyter notebook to vscode

I must say I am DISSAPOINTED at how this is NOT different from ChatGPT. I was expecting so much more from the refactoring part. It turned out it was JUST a copy-paste. As a potential user I am not convinced to switch yet. Can’t see any difference except for the somewhat useful shortcuts in the code.

Codeium is supposed to be an inline tool, just like copilot but it isn't. Instead its having a refactor button.

I love this extension
It would much better if chat ui is better just like github copilot
And one more thing i missed from copilot is ability to insert the suggestion in the current cursor position

i wish it would check for indents all the time and fix them, its a pita especially if youre new to language and dont know syntax that well
