Played the beta. It's pretty good. It's not an action MMO. It's a traditional role based MMO and it's all about team composition, teamwork and timing. So if you like that, then come right on up!

yes there is a monthly fee. PS3 and PC players play on the same servers together. There is an option that is $12.xx and one that is $15. The more expensive option lets you create more characters on the same world. That option is not really needed since 1 character can do everything, and switch class/job at any time.

They are both overrated. Just you get more bang for bang for 1 Month of FF XIV than Far Cry 3. Hell even $74 for only 3 months would be better than Far Cry 3. Tell me what FPS is better than Golden Eye 64 gameplay wise? Now for MMORPG you could say "Wow Clone". Yeah ok, but it's still got better than say CoD right? Which is even more overrated than WoW with even less gameplay than a point and click adventure like Monkey Island.

Bascially what I saying is will that 10 hours of gameplay... ^

I can't answer that if that tells u anything. have u? most likely not. the only thing that may or may not be different is the intro is might or might not be missing the parade that was in the 1st 1. let me put it this way if i had the beta or not, i would only play it for 15 min. then jump over to SZone/ stalker online the end.

Final Fantasy XIV is just another generic, uninspired MMO with the same combat, quest design, etc, that we've seen a hundred times before. At the very least, ESO seems to be trying something new with the focus on exploration and a combat system closer to the Elder Scrolls game than MMO's. If you think otherwise then you're kinda dumb :P

F2P are tailored for PVP. There is PVE, that is neglected though for anyone who just wants to PVE. I played FFXI online and was impressed by its gameplay that any other MMORPG doesn't come close. Now with FFXIV, after seeing gameplay footage, got me mesmerized and excited. Allready preordered the collectors edition. And $12 a month for subscription I consider well worth it.

I heard when this game first came out you had to buy the game to play, and it was so bad they had to pull it from market
Now they made it from ground up and should be F2P.... Well considering how many games are F2P this days or becoming one ((Tera, StarWars, Aion, Rift etc.etc. )) I wouldn't be surprised if this would be free too

sory.. havn't played that one I was thinkin.. more in line of GW2, Tera or even warframe cause while there are other good action mmorpg these few I've played has great art direction and enjoyable combat system and is openworld which is also a must at least for me in any mmorpg.

Having played this game in Beta I can safely say that it's nothing more than another generic MMO that does nothing to improve on the gameplay or design of other MMO's we've seen in the last 10 years. Certainly not worth paying a monthly fee for.

Why are the zones looks gritty and gloomy? Doesnt feel ff'ish. Also this game is p2p? Expect this to go F2P in a few months.. Monthly subs doesnt work well now for new MMO's. If this game doesnt offer something new to the genre this will just wither away.

Play the Beta and you wouldn't be saying that. This game has gone from being a terrible game, to being an average, generic MMO that does nothing new. There's been 10 years of average, generic MMO's that do nothing new.

the game is dead and fake as gay! its like you play game 1 min and cutscene come up, after cutscene you run other side about 15sec and come outs another cutscene, there is no chating with other players its not allowed,

Agreed I played version 1.0 and that sucked big time and I hope SE learns that f2p is the future with ingame market like SoE has with Everquest 2 swtor with the cartel market etc. :)

It's pretty damn good. There's lots of story missions with cutscenes, the combat is pretty good, the world is beautiful and the writing is also good but there are a few spelling errors.

I can't really justify paying for the game and then paying a monthly fee. It's like buying a ticket for an amusement park and than also having to buy tickets to each ride.

monthly fee is an outdated model. I don't see it working anywhere outside of WoW. Rather just have a model similar to GW2. Although, I've never even played gw2.

Good job Japan, you guys just can't create an MMO without little girls as playable characters. Oh, sure.. yeah.. She's totally older then 18.
