You know it is serious when there was a fan on it.

Nowadays you have to worry about every tiny pin being perfect. This though, so secure and no worries. So good.

Gigantic upgrade for me when I went from AmD k6-2 to the 800MHZ Amd Athlon slot A. I still have my processor to this day. Awesome memories using it to play many pc games. Chipset to have back them was the N-force or ViA chipset

Wow, Slot A! These are very rare, as the platform was short-lived.

I didn't grow up with these (born in 97) but for the longest time I really wanted to mess with one of these slotted CPU PCs. Finally got to around a year ago when I bought a Hydro Thunder arcade machine. it needed a lot of work but with some TLC (Repasted, new PSU due to heavy smoke use, and replaced all the fans with lil Noctuas) I got it working. These older computers are so fun to work on and I envy those who were old enough to really experience those generations of the rapid tech upgrades (formats generally haven't changed since I got into PCs in 2004)

Oh wow... I hadn't thought about this in decades. Brings back great memories!

After all these years, motherboard layout still doesn't change much (and i like it). Yeah i know there are AGP, IDE, and some ports that i can't recognize, but their positions are still quite similar with what we get now like PCI-E, SATA and RAM

Slot processor, I think my second computer had one of these. I was learning about upgrading PCs and how to make them better for games way back in the mid/late 90s.

The first computer i bought by myself was a athlon xp 3000+ system. That was more modern than this example here, but still had no heat spreader.
I was free from the pentium 3 family computer from that moment on.

That is a a lot beefier heatsink than what Intel used as oem back then, I loved my 333Mhz.
