I love that Kim pointed out that there has been no revamping of the hospital system despite that covid is here to stay.
Also - i worked in a nursing home for very long term. those poor residents not being allowed to see their family members was a crime. i know the risk of infection and death was high - but there should have been an option to sign a waiver and then separate the nursing homes out. most residents have 6mo - 1 year to live. they’d rather risk early death and be able to see their loved ones then not get covid and die alone

I really appreciate you bringing up this huge issue, the prison system in the U.S. is absolutely disgraceful on so many levels.

99% of these prisoners will get out. What the system is doing is creating monsters that will lack empathy and sense of right or wrong. This is policy that couldn't be more wrong. These people need fixed, not more damaged.

When prisons went private, the big money pushed for laws like 3-Strikes-Your-Out to get those places full to capacity, thereby increasing numbers to get federal money to fill investor pockets. Guess which part of the population got incarcerated more?

Kim intuitively knows how to detect the mainstream media's one-sided stories and then unspin it with reason and logic to present both sides of the story. Much respect !

I hate the term "abundance of caution". Its corporate speak for "over-reacting".

So now they're in - double prison? Seems unconstitutional.

Mandates, low pay, long hours, becoming more dangerous, who would want this job? When prisoners get out of prison, we fine them( at least in Louisiana) don’t help them find housing, jobs or support. The parole officers are so overwhelmed, underpaid, they can barely keep track of their parolees. 200-300 case loads for parole officers making $15 an hour. Our systems are broken.

My son is in jail & his untreated mental illness has brought him there, I see a broken system and it's heartbreaking for so many✌️❤️💡

I love how Kim brought it around to us, people outside the prison. Lockdowns are just another arrow in the overbearing government's quiver. We will see more and for less acute reasons.

Probably not a lack of funds, if we paid guards more then it would eat into profits
