Other anglers won't have to compete with me for fish during a storm. I will be gone. I will fish in rain but first sign of thunder and lightning has me on the road. That said, I still appreciate your point of view and experience on this, Randy.

I have had some great luck fishing in the rain but if a thunderstorm is nearby I will not go. If you can hear it or see it you are in range. Thanks for the tips Randy!

If it's raining I'm on the water. If I see lightning I'm off the water! Lol.... Some of my best days were in storms.

In Minnesota I've had it many times where if you fish with your rod tip up it will buzz quite loudly. I've heard stories of line floating in the air but never seen it. Usually change locations if that starts happening lol.

I've caught some of my biggest fish during thunderstorms

I think I'll put it on the trailer and let Randy catch'em and win the tournament. If he lives. 😁

My first tournament outside of buddy team tournaments with 12 boats was in the worst weather I've ever bass fished in. We took off at 6AM in HEAVY rain and 35F degree air temps. The run to our first spot had my hands so numb I could hardly fish. Throughout the day we had intense lightning/thunder, 1" hail, sudden high winds, and low lying fog that made it almost impossible to see the trolling motor from the back deck. Several boats pulled off early and didn't weigh in at all & had to be called by the tournament director to make sure they weren't still out there stuck somewhere. My boater, who I met the previous night for the first time, was extremely familiar with this lake (I had never been there before the weekend of this tournament) and weighed one 2lb fish. I blanked, but somehow kept coming back & kept all my fingers. I gained a lot of respect for the guy I was fishing behind who kept at it down to the last minute & never gave up despite all the spots he had fish pre-fishing not panning out on Sunday.

After my uncle died from lighting while fishing you couldn't pay me to fish during a lightning storm. But before and after I find it the best time to get them to bite.

Love fishing during a nice spring summer rain! Keep the tips coming Randy!

I don’t mess with lightning. I’m either in a boat stall or off the water.

Won't find me out with a graphite rod in the lightning. I've seen what lightning does to people. That's shelter time for me.

Randy, thanks again for insight that electronics cant give. I am not naïve. I know that fishing calls on us to have many resources, and electronics are one of them, but the more mental resources that we can acquire, the more advantage we will have over equipment. With todays advanced clothing options, we have the tools to battle inclement weather. Diversity and adjustment is what separates the hobby from the passion. I certainly appreciate what you are offering.

The average person has a 1 in 100, 000 chance of being struck by lightening in their life time. A recreational fisherman has a 1 in 1000 chance...thats 100x greater chance then an average person. I hear thunder i run lol.

My first thumbs down video. Lightning should be taken seriously. Out on the water holding a rod in lightning, regardless of the odds, seems reckless. It would be awful if someone took this video as professional advice to chase fish during in a lightning storm. Maybe I'm reading this wrong so feel free to clarify.

The fish seek shelter getting tight to the cover but the angler doesn't. Hmmm🤔 Stay safe.

Caught a 5 pounder in the rain yesterday in about 3ft of water using a whopper plopper!! Always have my scale! Will head to the house with heavy lightning!!
Great info in this video Randy!

I've got a trailer question. I'm new to trailering a boat. It's a 20' Nitro with the Nitro trailer...dual axel.
The question is...since I don't have a spare tire, what do you (or any of your subscribers) do about the chance of a flat tire with dual axel trailers? I've got towing protection with the insurance...but I'm wondering about expedient fixes, if there are any. Thanks
