Say what you will about granny knots, but I have never had it untie, the line always breaks before it unties. I’ve caught literal sharks with granny knots. I’ve caught an 12 foot bull shark almost breaking the world record.

Just in case anyone doesn't know....those spinning reel handles can be switched for left or righ hand users. It's a simple screw capture. Takes about 30 seconds to change over. No special tools. Most spinning reels have this option. As do most baitcasters.

I like to hook my lure on the rod guide. If I use the whatever, it sticks my hand every time.

Scratch the old boat thing . Add don't flip your bail with your crank . Learn to manually close your bail like an adult who knows better. I agree with everything else.

The learn how to tie an fg knot is a MUST
I’ve never had one break on me at the knot!

If your really a beginner learn the Alberto knot it isn’t nearly as good of a knot but it’s easy think it has an 80% breaking strength
I’ve had a few to many of these break on me especially when I get snagged

I tie braid to steel leader is that ok? Cuz I’ve never had any problems and I’ve caught a bunch of pike
