Never been in a walking cast, but I have been in a SLC and LLC and those cast's are just so comfortable and nice to wear. No problem sleeping with a cast on either. Put your casted leg on a couple of pillows. You don't cheat with a cast on. Because you can't take it off like a boat. So your injured leg is safe all the time. One of my friends had a walking cast and he find it more safe using a crutch in the opposite hand of the injured leg. It also made it a lot easier for him to walk.
