I think the secret of the SoundToys is that it has the best decay behaviour.

Some developers still do the mistake of using linear fade out as opposed to natural / logarithmic fade!

Love the arturia one, usually use it with drums/percussion after a resonator or saturator/distortion, just pure magic, alsobthe wave alchemy one is superb.

The UAD sounds better than the 140 I worked with. They’ve done something to the stereo image. In a good way.

No doubt, the Arturia for me. Tried and loved it. Waiting for a promo. Thank you for the video.

UAD and SoundToys for me, between those two I have all my plate needs covered. Both fantastic plugs in the arsenal.

I'm disappointed that the Black Rooster plate reverb didn't work - they're my "go to" for plate & spring reverb (along with their compressors, tape saturation plugin, and the OmniTec-67A vintage tube preamp). They do have a free plate reverb plugin (RO-GOLD), if you want to give them another try. Their spring reverb is the best spring reverb plugin that I've heard, which is significant considering how often spring reverb plugins fall short. I own the Little Plate as well, and while I really enjoy the ambience of it, I find the Black Rooster RO-140 tends to be more useful for most applications, at least for me (I tend to like the extreme settings on the Little Plate for creating atmospheric sounds, where as the Black Rooster Audio RO-140 functions more like a traditional plate reverb, IMO). Hope you're able to give them another try - if you can get it working, it will be well worth it.

I really like the LittlePlate from soundtoys, just discovered soundtoys recently and I really like some of their products. Aside from plates I love the UAD lexicon emulations, they just sound great on everything!

My vote goes for the most vintage EMT140 to the Arturia !!!

THanks great video. made me think. I have the UAD only. Cheers.

Little Plate has the plate sound. The Arturia one is also great, especially with the extra features. Nevo IRs are very good. Waves sounds too brittle and algo-like.

soundtoys super (or little) plate for a really good audible plate, arturia for a bright more chaotic plate, 480L A plate and m7 plates (I like verbsuite) for modern rock music.

I use the Arturia version quite a bit, but I actually prefer the UAD in this comparison! I might have to check it out.

The black rooster shouldn't choke the signal like that. That looks like a bug or perhaps try lower the damper, increase size... 🤔

Might not be the best one, but the Waves one is good for vocals.

Soundtoys is the only one that preserved the punch of the snare. Waves sounds like a** as always to me. The other one are good but not amazing IMO

Impossible to listen to this buzzing hum all throughout the video. You could've at least muted voice mic during audio examples.🤦🏻‍♂
Brusfri is a good real-time zero-latency (lookahead off) denoiser.
