As Em (Natasha Calis) gets ready for bed, she starts to convulse and realizes that there's something far more sinister than a frog in her throat.

FILM DESCRIPTION:
Inspired by Los Angeles Times writer Leslie Gornstein's article "A Jinx in a Box," this horror film from Ghost House Pictures and director Ole Bornedal (Nightwatch) tells the tale of a broken family that comes under attack from a malevolent supernatural entity of Jewish folklore. Shortly after her parents (Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Kyra Sedgwick) divorce, a young girl purchases an ornate antique box at a yard sale. In the weeks that follow, the young girl forms an intense fixation on the box, her behavior growing increasingly bizarre as she falls into the grip of a diabolical apparition. When the girl's father discovers that the relic is in fact a holding cell for the disconnected soul of a deceased person who has been denied entry into the afterlife and needs a human host to inhabit, he fights to rid her of the evil that threatens to consume her body and soul.

Whenever the demon comes inside her, there is always a tear sliding down her eye. In the scene where her father reads the Bible and Emily throws it over across the room while being possessed, she has a tear rolling down her eye. The same is with the pancakes scene, when she is eating pancakes and stabs her father's hand while being under the control of a demon. She is also shedding a tear there. In this scene, the same is happening.

I think the tear indicates Emily's self-pain of experiencing possession.

Overall I enjoyed this film, fun to watch. Howerver I felt they took the posession too literally. The demon being present in the body of a possessed with its own body is too much.

I was watching the Simpsons and Lisa did a magic trick where she made scissors come out of he's mouth and I automatically remembered this scene on the trailer

Whatever you say, this is one of the best exorcism horror movies for me. The scares are well dosed and placed, the story is a bit different to other films of this genre, and this idea is phenomenal! The imagination that something is living inside of you, and that you can feel it grabble in your throat and you see it in the mirrir to, is horrific yet great. I couldn´t stop think after I watched this scene and was so uncomfortable. Even now I close my eyes halfways because it´s so gruesome. Fantastic job
