You can get better performance on PS5 easily if you just do this & change these settings now! First thing is to change your PlayStation 5 default setting to Performance Mode.. Next, go to your Video Output Settings & make sure VRR, 120hz, & ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) are all set to Automatic - then go to your Network Settings for PS5 & hit the "Options" button on the registered network & set to "5Ghz Only".. Now to save TONS of space on your PS5 SSD, go to your Capture & Broadcasts Settings & set "Auto Capture Trophies" to Gold & Platinum PSN Trophies ONLY. You can also disable Auto Capture Challenge Videos to save even MORE space. Next, use Safe Mode to clear the system cache & rebuild database. I also recommend upgrading your PS5 with an M.2 SSD for faster load times & BETTER frame rates for PS5 games. Lastly, remember to use Rest Mode on PS5. That's it! for MORE PS5 tips, tricks, & secrets - leave a "LIKE" rating & SUBSCRIBE!

ONLY CHANGE TO 5ghz IF YOU ARE NEAR THE ROUTER

Adding an additional SSD does not have any affect on load times or fps. Bro tried to sneak that one in there lol

One thing I am finding very poor is that on PS5 they haven't yet updated the machine to do something the PS4 could do and helped me being partially deaf for accessibility. Me and my mrs used to be able to watch movies or shows and chat with plugging in a wired headset to a controller each and being able to voice chat on the same machine. I wish the PS5 could do this. It neant I could hear the show better and her.

If you leave the PS5 in rest mode and a power storm or an outage hits, your PS5 is gone. So it is not safe to leave your PS5 in rest mode. I don't know what this guy is talking about

rebuilding the database should only be a last resort. if you keep rebuilding it the read/write limit will be met and brick the ssd. that feature is better suited for traditional hard drives but the same can be said for the latter because the platter will also be worn out at some point. clearing your cache will help and the m.2 will lighten the load in terms of storage the main ssd will still be the same read/write speed

Will you actually get more frames by installing an external SSD? I heard of boot times and of course more storage but I' haven't heard anything about additional frames...

If you have external storage such as an external HDD or SSD to put games on it it does not mix well with rest mode because when you turn on your PS5 to get out of rest mode, it gives you an error that the console was not powered off properly despite being in rest mode and has to automatically rebuild database. Surprised Sony has not fixed that problem yet.

What exactly does the "Rebuild Database" option do?

Great tips. Ty. Question, the database reset won’t affect any of the games or saved data right? Only the PS system data?

Always there for us John. Mine stays on rest mode all the time, especially for the PS Portal as well. Cracking piece of kit

The author of this video is poorly informed. Switching to 5G doesn't necessarily improve download speeds as the signal doesn't penetrate walls etc as well as 2.4GHz.
You test if it's better first, then decide which is best. Same comment regarding the addition to an SSD, that's probably not going to result in better performance.
Man the quality of his videos is dropping steadily. I think the problem is he's out of ideas, recycles old tips and now... just tell garbage that he hasn't researched well. It's a shame, I used to love this channel.

A while ago, my PS5 would sometimes stutter horribly in any game, and I couldn't figure out why. I tried everything with no success, but then I ran the "repair console storage" and that seemed to work. Still hasn't come back.

I put my games on the M2 drive as it runs faster than the PS5 drive. I clear the cache and rebuild the data base a couple times a year, or when things start to crash. I have my PS5 horizontal especially after the notification that the Liquid Metal cooling may not cover the whole chip if the system is in a vertical position. I will be checking some of the other settings that were mentioned.

Would clearing up storage space help with screen tearing?

The way you’re framing “performance mode” is wrong. Performance mode is simply defaulting games to the 60 fps mode instead of 30fps in quality mode. It’s not “better performance” in performance mode.
