Smartphones communicating with high frequency sound is really cool, but I wonder if Google have researched or even simply considered what environmental impacts possibly making it commonplace could have. Just because we can't hear it doesn't mean other creatures can't, and all the research has shown that light and noise pollution are already serious environmental problems. No one really seems to want - or know how - to do anything about them.

In my area, we actually have a lot of bats. Generally, besides occasionally roosting in the attics of homes that aren't adequately protected against them, they are practically never a nuisance to anyone. On the contrary, they collectively eat massive amounts of insects, including mosquitoes (something we also have a lot of), and are EXTREMELY important for natural pest control. I would hate for them to be driven away by a cacophony of smartphones talking to each other with high frequency sound.

+MagnusHyttsten Please, to make video with this tone you should make some API that actually works or, at least, add some documentation for it and update the existing one. With a video like this and the general lack of documentation I, as a developer, am starting to think that you guys lack in correctness. I'm professionist and I want documentation and examples ( possibily, something that works, not the tons of rusty things you had put inside sdk in the past) not these copy of Benny Hill Show or Comedy Central videos. Since the release of Lollipop the Android SDK is gone completley out of control. No doc, buggy API, buggy and unreliable IDE.... I am sick of this. I have to work to feed my family. Working in this way with these tools it's impossible
