There are Korean Companies running in India which shows racism to Indians and deliberately prohibiting Indians to eat food in their canteen etc, if they can do such things even in Indian soil, i definitely would believe they would do much more in korean soil.

As a foreigner, I have heard that some Koreans, if not all of them, are quite racist or discriminatory toward people of other nationality, especially those with dark skin. Maybe because, as they put it, they tend to adhere to this "beauty standard". Some of them, tend to discriminate those who doesn't meet their standard of beauty. In any case, correct me if I'm wrong.

Thing is one interview actually don't tell what they think or feel from within, they may tell good things in public but form stereotypes in mind within . I hope the gap closes soon but awareness each knowing each other nicely through education and research about each other .

Second lady doesn't make any sense. Just because Korea is majorly monoethnic doesn't give its people an excuse to think badly of another country. If anything she's agreeing that Korea is discrimating towards India BECAUSE of its monoethnicity.

I've travelled to South Korea more than any other country. As a more "colored" Asian-American, I've only encountered one instance of blatant discrimination and it was from a bus driver in a small city far from Seoul.

Being Indian I have travelled to Korea and found them extremely welcoming and very helpful.One time we werent able to get a taxi and most of it is pre booked..so a girl saw us not getting a taxi and ran over to a taxi and requested him to drop us to our hotel..well on another note I think when we visit another country we also need to respect their place and culture too as they would respect our's..its a give and take.

These are just individual anecdotes. You can't really extrapolate these opinions to how Koreans feel in the aggregate. And of course they are going to give favorable responses in front of a camera. But the lady in the red scarf is correct about ethnically homogenous countries having the strongest in-group bias, which is what the data bears out.

I think it's a bit late to blame monoethnicity. the younger koreans will have been exposed to so many foreign faces. But all over asia darker skinned asians and people in generally have a hard time. But however tough they are on you, they are also super tough on eachother. So much pressure on how to look and act and study. Then work till you drop.

its crazy to me how racist this country is to anyone not korean or white. so many hateful and disrespectful people who are trying to justify this behavior with "its a misunderstanding, we just dont understand them so hope they know that" is pathetic. it takes such LITTLE effort to learn about them and show kindness rather than ignorance, yet they cant be bothered. so instead of improving themselves they expect others to just suck it up. "we cant control other's emotions" but you CAN control how you treat them! tf? ... this country is absolutely shameful.
