Hi Kim, I got my Vego composter yesterday. I am using it as I write. So I finally got it working and connected to the app. I’m rather impatient so it took me a minute, but I got it. I watched your video a couple of days ago, so I was kinda clued into what to do. It’s good to be able to watch it work through the glass top. So I’m quite happy with it. I did order off the app the in ground compost bins. I only have one garden plot and praising God for a second one this spring, pray with me y’all. It’s great when companies send you things to review. Would like one but $300-400 kinda steep for my liking. Old school way it is. Maybe I’ll get it for Christmas 😅.

I appreciate that you can compost the brown paper manual (without staples) in your outdoor pile should you wish to do so.

It’s the tablets where they make money. If you know what they’re made of you could probably make a home made one, maybe. I would say the tabs are the stuff they make from rice water and dairy. Lactose bacillus. Whey….They have charcoal for smell and color as well. There’s water and heat…….there must be a way to cut up….you could blend the scraps with a little water. They are essentially cooked genially turned around the clock. And so dried and granulated……. Lactose bacillus formulas are used, sprayed in chicken houses or pig areas to keep smells down….

I wonder if it would grow seeds indoors well, like other composts, mixed with some potting soil?
