Not sure if it's just my fifa 14 that's screwed up but these tips would not work for me. Example: keeping possession is near impossible because the opposition will swarm me down and simultaneously cut off any and every possible pass option available within seconds. Even when I attempt to defend the ball, regardless of which direction they attack me from, they knock out my player without committing a foul 100% of the time. Also every AI player is faster than my fastest player. Even when I have a head start advantage, by the time I get to their goalie, there's 4-5 defenders on me while my nearest player is struggling to catch up. I even changed my sliders to give me a boost in acceleration and sprint but they still keep up but at least they don't outrun me anymore. It's like getting a handicap to make things even. Also their first touch and ball control is phenomenal. Even when I'm playing the shittiest of teams. As if messi was copy/pasted to to every team/player except mine. I've attempted to steal possession during moments where they'd lack control, like in quick turns or when they bring the ball down from a cross but they bring it down so quick, without losing speed, and they dribble past me without losing control. I've attempted to duplicate that but my players always require to bring it down before I can do anything. When I make quick turns my players need to reposition before I can turn again while they do it instantaneously. To make things worse, it's not like I suck, I'm not the best but I'm fairly good, but everytime I get scored on its cause my AI defenders don't mark properly, leave giant gaps and are extremely passive, specially with lose balls, as if they're afraid of it. Quite frankly it's a frustrating game but professional is too easy. So that's not fun. While legendary and even world class stresses me and frustrates me to no end. It's as if the higher difficulty, the dumber your players get. And I'm sorry for the wall of text.

It's sad that the AI lacks so much personality that you can only play one way to win which makes the game lack diversity. Barcelona, Dortmund, Chelsea they all play the same.

this video ignores the biggest defending problem: u pass to someone and the CPU jumps the pass (ur open player just stands there) & then while ur "Keeping Shape" the CPU dribbles around a player is in on goal

How do u stop CPU dribbling. Ever played a CPU 5 star team? Every player is Messi. The CB's are Messi. John Terry is Alaba

I guess I am good at games too, cause I discovered everything you said on my own.... I learned everything on my own.... But FIFA14 is a bit difficult.... ITALY (International) and FC Bayern (Club) are tough as hell.... It requires hell of a concentration to defend.... After the match, your head starts spinning.

A useful suggestion for rookies. If you were boss with the pro difficulty, you remeber that it was hard to pass the opponent on the individual play of a player(maybe you made a lot of passes). In world class mod players become hard to control, and the opponent wiser. But when the ball is yours it is much easier to overpass a player here rather than on pro mode. But do not make a trick to pass them cause they catch the ball almost every time you do. Just run with middle speed(do not sprint), then when you spot the opponent trying to tackle press L2 + fake shot. It will make a beautiful trick via which you will start dominating on this type of difficulty too. When defending do not rush to take the ball because despite the pro version on this degree you will be kidded by the attacker too. Try to catch their passes, by blocking the pass reciever(s). Do not follow your opponent when he is running keep your position. Press L2 to automatically tackle the ball. Finally, do not pass too much. When passing, do a short pass, and only. Do not try to make a through ball.
P.S. With difficulty world class, the longshots become easier to perform.

Doesn't even matter, when you get kicked off the servers during big games. I beat a Legendary team 2 - 0 then the server disconnected me so the match didn't count and I had to do it again. AND AS SOON as the game starts they play differently and whoop my ass 0 - 2 and didn't get my promotion. Either the servers really are that bad or the computers hate losing.

world class is soo difficult..I think it is all about codes..I mean if game decides to score there is no way to stop cpu..same thing valid if you try to score..if game doesn't want you to score then you can't score..this game made me mad!!!!

Defending is the most difficult part of this game but the more you play the better will you defend.  In legendary, now my best is defeating Barcelona 4-3,  city 3-2 and many teams many times with 2-0 or 1-0 ( usually with Madrid).   When I started playing legendary I used to end up beaten by at least 5 or 6 goals and many times up to 10. And still now if I play little casually with big clubs, I do get defeated by heavy margin. And one thing, now for me playing with less than 4 star teams in Legendary is just like playing  in pro with big teams.

I was once leading 1-0 on world class difficulty around the 45min. So I passed around the ball, trying to keep possession. Then surprisingly the CPU started marking all of my players and I couldn't pass the ball. It then stole my ball and ended the first half with a 1-1. I failed to get an equaliser and ended up losing 1-3 when they scored two other in the 2nd half..

its easy to keep the ball and beat ultimate but its just so boring lol, i normally just get the ball to the flanks and cross and just head in my goals i can never carve open the CPUs defence lol i wish EA didnt make the AI so robot like lol

Really helpful but there is one thing you forgot. 5 AT THE BACK. it really helps i have a prem team and i just throw Hummels back there and they nether score so i hope that helped.

I play it on world class level and none of the tips work as the AI is unpredictable and if u retain possession the AI press for the ball really fast and cutting ur options to pass! EA have done something to the game where on professional level is fairly easy but world class is ridiculously hard!!!

I beat Ultimate difficulty 3-0. Just focus on defense, and when you have the ball try to score by crossing.

Edit: my goal may have happened b/c of scripting, I shot from the top of the box, ball was going wide of the back post, and lampard comes and deflects it towards the top of the back post!

lol I have so much trouble on world class alone maybe because I'm playing on PC so I never use skill moves or complicated methods. I only beat a legendary cpu by having 5 defenders and winning by a penalty
