CyberLink PowerDirector 18 Review

Find out what video editing software I use to edit my YouTube videos.

Previously I used Corel VideoStudio, although due to numerous bugs, performance and stability issues, I switched over to CyberLink PowerDirector 18.

As full-disclosure, CyberLink provided me with a free copy of PowerDirector 18 for this review. Although I received a free copy, I've really enjoyed editing using PowerDirector and I now use this as my main video editing software.

I'm thinking about buying this software I'm current using Adobe Premier Elements but It falls short when It comes to effects & I don't want to pay for a subscription with Adobe charging so much, The Cyberlink subscriptions seem to be better value with what you get, so I'm still waving up which deal to take advantage of.

It looks like a good program. Very Adobe Premiere Pro lite. It would be a good starting point to learn to edit video without having to pay monthly—the non-subscription purchases.

Hello Kevin! I am using PowerDirector. When i started using it, i did the option that it always opens in 16:9 aspect ratio. But now, i want it in 9:16 for YT Shorts. Can you help me?

Kevin, Been following you editing videos for a year or two, i have been using Power Director for a few years not as good as you . But i can make a reasonable DVD. .But theses days
most of my friends only have tv, s with usb ports so i am unable to take my video to theirs to show.
My question is i have made my video produced it how do i get it onto a usb stick please.

I have been for many years. A friend of mine recommended power director now I'm seriously considering purchasing it.
Lifetime not subscription.
With the lifetime version in other words the one that you purchase do you know if it has Boris ?
Or perhaps you could tell me what it does not have that you would like to have if you purchased it as a one-time purchase.

Hi Kevin Have you any idea how the cyberlink technical section works. I brought photodirector 11 ultra just over three weeks ago. It worked well for a few days them froze. Contacted cyberlink help section & followed their generated help section directions many times. Got a tech involved paid him $200 to follow cyberlink generated tech help to no avail. I have come to the conclusion after complaining to them many times that they employ one guy living in a garage in the boon docks of Harlem.
