Plus the regulatory British government approved at least one launch. The next one should be easier and more predictable.

What Virgen Orbit should do since the anomaly was probably caused by the shipment overseas, they should transport the parts over, test them, and build on site to lessen a further chance of failure.

This reminds me of Vanguard, the Navy's flopnik on 12/6/57; the Army launched Explorer I on 1/30/58.

It's exciting to see things getting out of the ground at Saxavord!

I don't know if you followed my advice or you went there already knowing about the space section, anyway thanks for visiting the Science Museum London.👍

The "sexbomb" is just an atmospheric engine test.(starting at Mach 1.8). The engine on the Helo-1 suborbital space place are supposed to work between 0 to Mach 5, so even if thos yet unscheduled test works, they are still years(5+) away from even a suborbital flight.

Will this content be exclusive forever ?

or will there be some timed exclusivity, like releasing those videos to everyone a year later than for the patrons ?

As I said after your last video, I will believe SES has hardware when I see it sitting on a runway. REL spent over twenty years trying to develop the same kind of space plane. They never could get the necessary funding. They have conducted very limited testing of the engines. They have dropped the idea of building the space ship and are hoping to market the engines. Where has SES gotten the finding to do in a matter of months what REL could not do in decades? Where have they ground tested their engines? I'm afraid i don't believe them, much as I wish it was all true.
How come you never mention Orbex? I know they are also hoping to fly this year out of Sutherland.

Personally I'm most excited about Isar Aerospace trying to launch from Andøya this year. But if RFA beats them to space, that's great too!

The distintion of being the first to launch from western Europe isn't that important, though. There's been plenty of launches from Europe, so now the say western Europe. And if a launch is successful from the UK, then Isar can just say they are the first to launch from northern Europe. Which is really an equally good achievement.

The Swedish government has also just announced that the Esrange Space Center will be further developed for orbital satellite launches. Previously it was used for sounding rockets.

So would there be no insurance for the ill fated satellites covered by Virgin as it was their contact on getting them into orbit?

@The Angry Astronaut I AM ABSOLUTELY LIVID AND VERY, VERY BITTER IN MY VITRIOLIC RAGE ! ! !

I used to work for space systems Loral we used to build satellites and all those payloads are insured

It's a pity that they don't put the payload in a separate section so it can be jettisoned. Just because the rocket didn't reach proper orbit doesn't mean the whole rocket with payload just scraps, crashing and burning, as it re-enters. I would do that if I made rockets. 🤷😂

Imo, I see alot of downfalls to virgin orbit over a standard land luanch. This is mostly why Idc about the thing. Things like, if the engine has an issue, it'd be nice if the rocket wasn't already in free fall...
