The movie reflects the original story of Hua Mulan from Chinese literature! The original actually doesn’t feature mushu or Li Shang ... those were added to the Disney animated movie

CHING PEI PEI IS THE THE MATCH MAKER!!!! YASSS. For those who don’t know, Ching Pei Pei was the star of the kung fu classic “Come Drink with Me” and the main villain in “Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.” She is SOOOO GOOD.

I am optimistic about this movie. I now it is to early to tell that the movie will be good or it will transend expectation but, Mulan for me is not entirely about humour but rather the movie speaks about self discovery and loving yourself in the adversary of family, culture and tradition; that is why if disney is stretching the story to narrate how true empowerment and self-love will be discovered, I am all up to it...

I'm guessing they'll be basing this on "Hua Mulan" and not "Fa Mulan". Which is a good thing, because Hua Mulan is supposed to be a bad-ass woman warrior that bulldozes through enemy armies with elegance as it with ease.

What I loved the most about the animated Mulan was her resolute selflessness that never wavered at the thought of marrying for the sake of her family. It was an early set up that she was willing to do anything for them. I'm hoping the live action follows a similar route.

Mulan originates from the folklore of the north, so she can’t be living in a house with a unique southern style. Seems like they picked whatever they liked from China and mashed them up to create the aesthetics they want, and it’s quite uncomfortable for people who know the history to see them paying no regard to facts.

I'm guessing this movie is following the original legend of Mulan but I wish it would stick to the Disney movie version because, although the legend of Mulan is quite interesting, Disney puts their own spin on the movie which makes more enjoyable with a lot of characters which is why the Disney version is more special, or at least to me.

Mulan spent the first night away from home on the side of the Yellow River, she must be catching the high speed train if she got from Fujian to the Yellow River in a day.

I don’t care if it’s the same as the Disney movie or if they stick to the original legend, there’s logic behind doing either one and I’d be fine with it either way, I just want it to be well written, well acted, and respectable with a good story! This is my favorite Disney movie and I REALLY don’t want to be disappointed here!
