I can't see that final war scene can work in any context, the way she dress and her hair, Mulan is not a marital artist or a Wu Xia like those in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon who can jump around as if they're flying, she's a soilder.
And for those who say this is going to be more faithful to the original tale, in the origin Mulan never revealed her gender until the ending, that's where the famous quote comes from:
"雄兔腳撲朔，雌兔眼迷離，兩兔傍著走，安能辨我是雄雌", basically means people can't tell the difference between a female and a male rabbit, because they all behave and look the same
